Meta-analysis of six RCTs with 546 participants: systolic pressure fell by about 3.5 mmHg and diastolic by 2.3 mmHg versus placebo. No notable adverse events were reported.
Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 86 adults aged 20-80 taking 2,000 FU nattokinase daily. Systolic pressure fell 5.55 mmHg and diastolic 2.84 mmHg more than placebo.
Open-label clinical study in 45 adults (healthy, with cardiovascular risk factors or on dialysis) taking 4,000 FU a day. After two months fibrinogen fell 7-10%, factor VII 7-14% and factor VIII 17-19%, with no notable adverse events.
